10 for 10: 10 Different Donors, 10 Different Reasons Why

LiveWell Turns 10-Horizontal

LiveWell’s 10th anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on our past, look forward to our future and share our gratitude for the wide variety of individuals and organizations that have made LiveWell’s work possible over the past decade. As our work has evolved, so have our supporters and partners. There are a variety of motivating factors that move a donor to contribute to LiveWell’s work. From a passion for the active Colorado lifestyle to a desire to know that their own children are consuming healthy meals at school, to an ongoing dream to see the entire food system transformed – LiveWell’s supporters have changed our work for the better! Some gifts are large and some are small, but all are valued.

Working to create systemic changes requires partnership from a diverse array of funders. LiveWell partners with foundations, government funders, corporations, and individuals to further the impact of our work. Here are 10 that have played a transformational role in our 10-year story:

  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation
  • Kim Bimestefer
  • Boulder County Public Health
  • The Colorado Health Foundation
  • Lorrie Furman Odom
  • GlaxoSmithKlein
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Rob Katz and Elana Amsterdam
  • Rose Community Foundation
  • Ann King White

A few of our donors shared their “why”:

“LiveWell is a good investment for Colorado business leaders. I trust LiveWell to transform my contributions into innovative programs that effectively improve health in our community, and that makes a valuable, lasting impact we can all be proud of.”

– Kim Bimestefer, Executive Director, CO Dept. Of Health Care Policy and Financing

“Without the opportunity to work with Leslie and others at LiveWell, I would not have known about the far-reaching importance of the work you do. Seeing the ongoing beneficial impact of LiveWell’s work is the reason that I give to this valuable organization that does so much to contribute to the well-being of children and families in Colorado!”

“LiveWell is committed to their goals and follows through. It’s not just words, it’s real action.”

– Lorrie Odom

It is an honor to partner with so many who are committed to LiveWell’s mission to increase access to healthy eating and active living by removing barriers that inequitably and disproportionately affect low-income communities and people of color.
